Hokkaido University Press was established in December 1970 for the purpose of supporting further development of academic studies and education of Hokkaido University and other Universities in Hokkaido.The Press has published mainly scientific book, textbook, general educational book, picture book, and so forth.We publish about 30 titles every year, having a backlist of nearly 600 titles.

Tohoku University Press (TUP) was established in 1996 as a publisher and distributor of academic books and literature. University and Institute researchers in the Tohoku region greatly value (or benefit from) the wide range of publications. TUP also manages the flow of academic literature into and out of Tohoku University.
